What is the Alpha Course?

Alpha is a ten-week, practical introduction to the Christian faith.

• It's relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly and fun
• Each session begins with a meal together, which gives us an opportunity to get to know each other.
• It will mean listening, learning, laughing, discussing and discovering. No question is too simple or too hostile.
• It began a few years ago in England and is now the fastest growing introductory course in Christianity of its kind in the world.

Who is Alpha for?

• People who are initially exploring the Christian life
• Those new to the faith
• Those who feel they need a good jump start to their spiritual life

What's involved?

• The Alpha Course begins at 6:30 pm with dinner.
• We then hear a talk about such topics as "Who is Jesus?" or "How can I resist evil?"
• After each talk we divide into small groups for a time of discussion of any questions raised by the talk.
• We finish by 8:30 pm.
• The course includes an "Alpha Weekend". This is the key part of the course.

What will it cost?

• There is no charge for attending the Alpha Course.

When and where is it?

• The Alpha Course runs for ten weeks on Tuesdays. The sessions will run from 6:30-8:30 pm at Hosanna Lutheran Church, located at 2480 Hwy 190 East.
