Hello! I am Candy O’Meara, Pastor at Hosanna Lutheran Church. Ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in December 2007, I started my ministry in Southwestern Virginia serving three congregations. In 2014, I moved to La Grange, Texas and served one congregation and later as interim in four more congregations. In 2022, I became the Redevelopment Pastor at Hosanna, leading a three-year process of redevelopment. By February 2025, I was called as the permanent pastor, and we are journeying together into the future.

I am a native of Louisiana, born in Alexandria [fill in the blank] years ago. As a "military brat" and a retired member of the United States Air Force, I have relocated frequently, but Louisiana has always been my home. I am pleased to have returned to my home state.

I’m single and I have an adorable cockapoo named Lacey who rules the household. I love to play with my puppy and I am a certified SCUBA diver.

What I believe

All people are beloved by God, have inherent worth, and are created in God's image, thus deserving of love and belonging. Our value comes from God's unconditional love shown through Jesus' death and resurrection, not our actions. Our deeds express gratitude for this grace, essentially paying it forward.

Jesus tells us that the two greatest commandments are 1) love the Lord, your God with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and strength and 2) love your neighbor as yourself.

We sometimes want to make it really complicated, but it’s as simple (and difficult!) as that: love God and love neighbor.

SERVICE TIME & LOCATION:

Our service time is 9am.

The 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month our coffee and donut service is held in the fellowship hall.

The 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month are held in the Church sanctuary.

We have a combined Sunday School following the service with the Presbyterians in the Fellowship Hall.
