Who we are
Hosanna Lutheran Church is an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation. We strive to provide small group support and warm, uplifting worship experiences for all who want to know what their purpose is in life.
What we believe
Jesus said to his disciples in John 13:34-35 (Contemporary English Bible), “I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”
We hold as foundational the Holy Scriptures, the inspired word of God and the source and norm of our faith.
We are a “sacramental church”, which means that God uses simple earthly elements such as bread, wine, and water, to impart God’s grace and mercy to all people. We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and we believe that Jesus comes to us through the sacrament of Holy Communion where everyone, without exception, is invited by Jesus to dine at the table.
“While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:26-28 NRSV)
We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion at all our services and everyone is welcome at Jesus’ table.
By “everyone,” Hosanna affirms the inherent sacred worth of all individuals without exception. We are committed to following the example of Christ, seeking growth in God’s love, and fully welcoming into fellowship individuals from all backgrounds including but not limited to: Every Race, Every Age, Every Gender, Every Culture, Every Nationally, Every Creed, Every Faith History, Every Sexual Orientation, Every Socioeconomic Status, Every Physical & Mental Ability, Every Marital Status, Every Family Make Up.
If you are looking for “my people”, look no further. There are lots of ways to find community and belonging at Hosanna!
